Abstract
My project is a collection of poems that are organized so as to unfold a prose-styled narrative. Each poem was written to stand on its own, yet work in conjunction with the others to form an overarching story. In this regard the poems serve as flashbacks for the narrator; I’ve organized them into nine sections, each opening with a piece of dialogue. These interludes introduce the events contained in the poems and provide the skeleton for the entire work. When taken as a whole, the project chronicles the narrator as he struggles with his own memories, limitations, and regrets to try to discover something that explains why his life has brought him where it has, and what understanding he lacks which keeps him from what he desires.
