Author Biography

Douglas Ober (PhD, Asian Studies, University of British Columbia, 2017) is a historian of modern South Asia and religion. He studies Buddhist revival movements in colonial India and transnational religious networks in Tibet, Nepal, Burma, India and Sri Lanka. He is currently a Research Associate in the Centre for India and South Asian Research, Institute of Asian Research at the University of British Columbia.
