Description
HTML5 is the next generation of HTML and, though it is still a "work in progress", many of the new HTML5 tags are already supported in newer versions of the popular browsers. It promises to push the limits of web development, allowing you to build a new class of user experiences. CSS3 is the newest standard for CSS and includes many exciting new functions and features which gives increased control of the ‘look and feel’ of your web pages. While both HTML5 and CSS3 have been around for awhile, they continue to be the latest “buzz” in the web world and are now just beginning to be more widely implemented by web developers. This session will give a “librarian’s perspective” on these new web standards. Through a general overview and explanation of HTML5 and CSS3, and showing examples of how they are being implemented on the web, the presenters will demonstrate what the ‘hub-bub’ is all about. This workshop session will be highly interactive and include some small group and hands-on activities. Make sure to bring your laptop or mobile web device.
