The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) and the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) are working together to address needs identified in the recent Survey of Adult Skills. This session will demonstrate initiatives, sites, tools and strategies to assist in encouraging effective collaborations between libraries and federally funded adult education programs to help more people take advantage of the educational, employment, financial, health, social and civic resources that are available online. This session is sponsored by The Literacy Information and Communication System (LINCS). The LINCS initiative features on-demand, web-based professional development opportunities; targeted face-to-face training, high-quality resources; and an interactive online learning community.
