Re-imaging Libraries: Developing a Virtual World Presence
Description
At a time when libraries are becoming less a warehouse of books and more service oriented, many libraries have developed a presence in the relatively new area of virtual worlds. This session will review the presence of libraries in the virtual world Second Life while discussing how to establish such a presence. Topics will range from obtaining a location, purchasing/building/modifying library materials, connecting to real world libraries, in-world collections/exhibits, and more.
