Beyond Boring: Using Technology to Engage Students with Information Literacy

Description

What happens when we put students in the driver’s seat and ask them to use technology to show us how they see and use our libraries and resources? We’ll examine several technology enhanced projects ranging from library promotional products to student designed information literacy screencasts created by undergraduate students at St Cloud State University. This session will highlight a range of Web 2.0 and software options for tapping into students’ thoughts about us and engaging them with content they usually think is boring. We will also brainstorm additional ways to use these technologies to keep our students engaged.
