Social networking tools are pervasive and provide opportunities for academic units but also create challenges. This session will look at how the Undergraduate Library at the University of Illinois has used Twitter for developing academic literacies, solving problems before they arise, outreach and marketing, and developing and strengthening community relations. . Discussion will include planned and unexpected benefits and pitfalls, including how Twitter can help libraries become more vocal and integral parts of their communities of users.
