Using Flipped Classroom Techniques to Enhance One-Shot Library Instruction Sessions

Description

Librarians often face challenges in creating one-shot library instruction sessions that cover all the content we deem valuable while following established best practices in teaching and learning. There never seems to be enough time. This session will cover how one librarian at a health sciences institution looked for solutions to the challenge of covering library services and some basic evidence informed practice (EIP) principles in a fifty-minute one-shot instruction session. The technique of "flipping the classroom" was used to replace at least some lecture time in order to incorporate hands on learning activities which practice the content of the lesson.
