Createch/SPNN: Partnering to Engage Youth with Media in Saint Paul Libraries

For the past four years, SPNN, a community media center in Saint Paul, has been a committed member of Createch - a drop in space for teens throughout many Saint Paul libraries that provides opportunities for youth to engage creatively with technology. Each week, youth and staff from SPNN lead media-focused workshops at Createch spaces, engaging participants in creating their own media projects. In this workshop we will talk about the theories of learning that shape Createch, run through a hands-on activity, and discuss best practices for successful partnerships between libraries and community organizations.
