We engage in the critical study of languages, cultures, and literature of ancient Greece and Rome, the Mediterranean world and the Middle East. The study of the Classical Mediterranean and Middle East world awakens the past. These ancient civilizations provide foundations for such things as religion, politics, language, and architecture in our world today. Arabic, Greek, Hebrew and Latin language and literature are studied in the Department of the Classical Mediterranean and Middle East.
