Submission Process and Guidelines

Bildhaan is an annual refereed scholarly journal that welcomes submissions relevant to any aspect of Somali society. In addition, the journal seeks works that are transdisciplinary in both perspective and method. Please note that the deadline for the submission of manuscripts is July 1st. Please direct submission inquiries to the Bildhaan Editor-in-Chief. The length of the essays and articles should be, with exceptions, up to 5000 words, single-spaced, with notes and bibliography at the end. Moreover, all figures and tables should be professional in appearance and professionally produced, if appropriate. Present one figure or table per page. Producing figures and tables on a laser printer will render camera-ready quality.

Formatting Requirements

Bildhaan: An International Journal of Somali Studies has no general rules about the formatting of articles upon initial submission. There are, however, rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for details. It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that documents in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software configurations that readers may have.
